The farther away you get, though, the more the language changes until the dude on the Atlantic Ocean can't understand the guy on the Mediterannean.

Billy Bryson and John McWhorter wrote some good books on the subject. I'll try to dig up the names.Malnurtured Snayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03506933474730575045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1785580148466700025.post-47516502933562356932010-08-20T21:16:53.922+01:002010-08-20T21:16:53.922+01:00Re: #6 - don't know, but I can think of severa...Re: #6 - don't know, but I can think of several other examples: Superior, Erie, Huron, Ontario, Travis, Baikal, Anna, Tahoe, Geneva, Champlain...FoggyDewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07934197854661226301noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1785580148466700025.post-302273343885522792010-08-20T20:16:16.320+01:002010-08-20T20:16:16.320+01:00As far as #2 goes:

There are just certain occassions that are for gift giving (weddings, babies, bdays, graduations, etc), and registries let everyone know exactly what you want.JG NYCnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1785580148466700025.post-19366849876906571412010-08-20T16:13:11.532+01:002010-08-20T16:13:11.532+01:00Jenny and ESW--this is all going to result in my u...Jenny and ESW--this is all going to result in my ultimate dream goal--the Supertrain!Brandohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06219319435229314554noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1785580148466700025.post-43752845787174528302010-08-20T15:23:04.446+01:002010-08-20T15:23:04.446+01:00They do charge for the bathroom on some of the che...They do charge for the bathroom on some of the cheap european airlines...you know the ones who charge only $5 for a one way ticket between Dublin & Edinburgh, but then charge you $75 when your bag is over 20lbs...I mean, what American travels to Europe with a bag that weighs less than 20 lbs?

http://abcnews.go.com/Travel/Green/paying-pee-airlines-critics-call-ryanairs-fee-inhumane/story?id=10355139e2https://www.blogger.com/profile/08134259044969042630noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1785580148466700025.post-26684876024371716632010-08-20T15:18:23.413+01:002010-08-20T15:18:23.413+01:00On 9, I just saw someone link to an article saying...On 9, I just saw someone link to an article saying American is going to start charging more for "good" seats in coach (the ones in the front).

NO.
